  • Maintains an active license and DEA in the state where care is being provided.

What You Need to Know

Associate Medical Director Visit Physician - Responsibilities

  • Create a Plan of Care for each Patient at the inpatient unit, including discussing general inpatient care criteria and potential discharge plans with the IDG, patient, and family
  • Sign death certificates, as applicable
  • Participate in the evaluation and certification or recertification of the terminal prognosis, as applicable
  • Establish consistent times for daily rounds, including RNs, team directors, and social workers, and prepare staff for daily rounds
  • Conduct daily rounding on each patient receiving general inpatient care
  • Establish a schedule for physician coverage at the inpatient unit
  • Provide education to IDG during rounds, and conduct in-services for newly hired staff
  • Promote physician collaboration on Patients
  • Ensure the eligibility for general inpatient care is documented
  • Provide after-hours call coverage at the inpatient unit on days on which inpatient visits are made.
