In the role of Plumbing Designer, you will have the opportunity:

  • Perform complex building plumbing design and drafting assignments requiring application of standardized drawing techniques.
  • Model plumbing piping systems layouts and perform plumbing calculations.
  • Prepare riser diagrams, equipment layouts, plumbing details, and other detailed drawings required for construction under the supervision of a Mechanical Designer or Engineer.
  • Work independently with oversight from the Mechanical Engineer and may direct the efforts of less experienced BIM Designers.
  • Able to coordinate equipment and piping system layouts with other disciplines.
  • Conduct short-term field assignments at client facilities to support project work as needed. Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a Technology program or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
  • Experience in plumbing drafting of all phases of the construction documents
  • Knowledge of procedures for production of design developments and construction documents, a thorough knowledge of engineering planning, drafting, and detailing.
  • Experience in the design of plumbing systems for commercial, industrial or institutional projects.
  • Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
  • Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience
  • A minimum of 5 years related industry experience
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure
  • Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool
  • Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
  • Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential
