WEX is an innovative payments and technology company leading the way in a rapidly changing environment. Our goal is to simplify the business of running a business for our customers and free them to spend more time, with less worry, on the things they love. We are on a journey to build a unified, world class user experience across our products and services and leverage customer driven innovation to power our growth and strategic initiatives.

As we lean into our mission to "simplify the business of running a business," we recognize that world-class external products are built on a foundation of world-class internal systems. WEX is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Product Manager to lead a team dedicated to transforming our core corporate and financial platforms. This is a critical, high-visibility role responsible for driving the strategy and execution for essential functions such as our General Ledger (GL), finance consolidation, rebates, pricing, billing, etc. You will be a key leader in our digital transformation, with a unique mandate to reimagine these foundational processes through the strategic application of AI, driving efficiency, scalability, and insight across the organization.

What you'll do:

  • Define the Vision & Strategic Roadmap: Architect, articulate, and evangelize a multi-year product roadmap for WEX's core corporate and financial systems. You will set the strategic direction for platforms supporting GL finance ledger consolidation, rebates, HR, CLM integration, pricing, and billing. A key part of this vision will be identifying and integrating AI and machine learning opportunities to automate processes, generate predictive insights, and fundamentally reimagine how our finance and corporate functions operate.

  • Be the Voice of the Internal Stakeholder & Drive Continuous Discovery: Champion the needs of our internal business partners in Finance, HR, and Operations. Lead ongoing discovery, user research, and process mapping to deeply understand their workflows, pain points, and unmet needs. You will translate these insights into a prioritized roadmap that delivers tangible improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and user satisfaction.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment: Collaborate closely with senior leaders and teams in Finance, Accounting, HR, Legal, and Engineering to align on shared business problems, define system requirements, and ensure a seamless end-to-end process flow. You will facilitate critical trade-off discussions, drive consensus on complex system integrations (like CLM), and act as a principal influencer for our internal technology strategy.

  • Execute Iteratively and Deliver Value: Author clear and concise user stories, epics, and product requirements for our internal systems. Manage the product backlog, prioritize features based on business impact and ROI, and work hand-in-hand with agile development teams to deliver high-quality, incremental value on time.

  • Measure Business Outcome and Impact: Define and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) tied directly to business outcomes, such as month-end close time, billing accuracy, operational efficiency gains, and cost reduction. Use data to drive continuous improvement and report on the business value and ROI of your product initiatives to senior leadership.

How you'll engage:

  • Strategic Mindset: Seek to understand WEX's corporate strategy, the competitive environment and market trends and how our products can create value, and proactively identify opportunities for WEX to lead the market through its developer platform.

  • Customer Obsessed: Deeply understand our customers' needs through customer empathy, data and prioritize work, translating deep developer insights into innovative platform capabilities.

  • Results Focused: Leverage data to understand how the product is performing and prioritize work, demonstrating clear contributions to WEX's strategic goals and financial performance.

  • Insights Driven: Use qualitative and quantitative insights to drive decisions, define experiments and prioritize roadmap

  • Trusted Partner: Appreciate and comprehend different points of view and share information clearly and transparently with strong collaboration while knowing when to escalate, serving as a go-to expert and strategic advisor for API and platform initiatives.

  • Relevant Expertise: Brings a deep understanding of the market, applied technologies and domain expertise, with a curiosity and learning mindset, and is recognized as a subject matter expert both internally and externally.
