Medical Scheduler - On-site \| Columbia, MD Location: Columbia, MD 21045 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Placement Type: Contract-to-Hire (4 months) Pay Range: $15.00 - $18.00/hour Interview Format: In-person with Practice Manager and Call Center Supervisor Start Date: November 17, 2025 About the Role: We are seeking two Medical Schedulers to join a fast-paced healthcare environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong customer service skills and healthcare experience to contribute to a close-knit team in a newly renovated office. Key Responsibilities: * Schedule and reschedule patient appointments * Handle high-volume inbound calls (60-100 daily) * Assist with patient registration, insurance verification, billing, and collections * Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance * Support front desk operations including check-in/check-out * Route patient inquiries to appropriate providers * Provide prescription refill and referral support * Collaborate with office staff and maintain excellent customer service Required Skills & Experience: * Strong communication and customer service skills * Familiarity with medical terminology and scheduling practices * Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume call center environment * Fast typing and computer proficiency * Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred) * Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is acceptable Preferred Skills: * Knowledge of EMR systems * Understanding of insurance procedures * Prior call center experience in a healthcare setting Work Environment: * Office-based role with regular interaction with patients, staff, and visitors * Requires sitting, standing, stretching, and use of standard office equipment * Headsets or handheld phones provided based on preference Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
