Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX is seeking a Director, Midstream Operations who will oversee and be responsible for leadership and execution of operational strategies across all midstream assets. Serves as a key integrator between site leadership and corporate strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and cultural expectations. Drive performance, safety, reliability, and continuous improvement while fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and accountable team culture.

Job Duties

(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)



  • Oversees and leads the strategy of Operations Directors across all midstream facilities.
  • Ensures consistent messaging and execution of safe, compliant, and reliable operations.
  • Drives adherence to OPEX and CAPEX budgets and ensure facilities follow established processes to close performance gaps.
  • Builds and sustains a culture of collaboration, coordinated effort, and critical thinking.
  • Empowers site leaders to lead their facilities with clarity, alignment, and commitment.
  • Ensures operational risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated.
  • Stays current on emerging regulatory requirements and ensure proactive compliance strategies.
  • Leads initiatives that eliminate waste and optimize operations across all assets.
  • Advances and supports efforts to enhance competitiveness.
  • Develops leaders at all levels, ensuring the right people are in the right roles.
  • Supports site leaders in building effective leadership teams.
  • Engages the front-line workforce and foster a sense of ownership in their roles.
  • Communicates operational performance, risks, and strategic initiatives clearly and confidently


Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy industry, 5 years in leadership is required.



PREFERRED EXPEREINCE:


15 years in the Midstream sector with exposure to multiple functional roles (Operations, Maintenance, Integrity, Engineering, etc....). Experience with digital transformation tools (SCADA, predictive analytics, asset management systems).


Education Level

A minimum a bachelor's degree in engineering is required or equivalent work experience in the energy industry.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to lead multi-site operations and manage complex systems.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational risk.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.



PREFERRED SKILLS:


Demonstrated success in leading cultural and safety improvement initiatives. Ability to thrive in a performance-driven, values-based environment.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of approximately four management employees and professional employees.

Work Conditions

Office-based with up to 35% travel required. Field visits may involve exposure to industrial environments and outdoor conditions.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to conduct field inspections, operate vehicles, and wear required PPE. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb up to 3 ft.
