This opportunity reports into our Plymouth, Michigan office and is a 100% travel position. Preventative Maintenance Engineer is responsible for basic maintenance of laser equipment at customer facilities and some basic level repair items. Opportunity for growth into repair and installation teams for field service.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks involving maintenance contracts at customer sites throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico for all TRUMPF equipment.

  • Provide high-quality technical assistance to customers to ensure optimal equipment operation

  • Perform basic level repairs for proactive cases and complete projects.

  • Document customer machine information and technical conditions and make improvement suggestions

  • Prepare and submit documentation properly for efficient invoicing

  • Maintain company property for safe operation and maximum life

  • Work within a cross functional team that includes applications, sales, engineering, or production for excellent customer service

  • Act as a TRUMPF ambassador and work directly with customers during installations and repairs to enable their business success

  • 100% travel required, both internationally and domestically.

  • Ability to lift and transport up to 70 lbs.

Education & Experience

Two-year technical degree or two or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service preferred.

  • Electrical and computer systems experience.

  • Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics preferred.

  • Experience with TRUMPF equipment considered advantageous.

  • Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools required

  • Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills
