Pay Rate: 18.27 0.45 shift differential The position is considered "safety sensitive" which requires the passing of an independently administered drug screen. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility of this position is to operate a forklift for loading, unloading, moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: EXPERIENCE: Previous experience and a forklift license are required. A written and driving test will be conducted to assess experience levels. Skills: Strong oral communication skills. ADDITIONAL: Must have the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. Should be capable of working independently with limited supervision. Regular and acceptable attendance is required, along with the ability to follow directions, interact positively with co-workers, and understand and adhere to posted work rules and procedures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and personal protective equipment. Must be able to lift to 35 lbs. unassisted for up to half of the workday and lift 25 kg overhead as job demands. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required. Moving machinery, including conveyors and forklifts, operates in the immediate area. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent demonstrated ability to perform required tasks. Must complete the required forklift certification.
