Overview

NV5 Geospatial is actively recruiting a Cloud Security Engineer. Strong capabilities in implementing security controls and frameworks within cloud environments are required. The Cloud Security Engineer will be located remotely and will support US Southern Command. US citizenship, along with the ability to successfully pass a basic background check for access to US military bases, is required for employment. A US Government Secret security clearance or higher is a requirement of employment.

Work Setting:

    This role offers flexibility in location, with the option to work from any NV5 Regional Office or remotely from home.
  • Potential travel up to 15-20% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain cloud security frameworks, ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53 Rev.5, FedRAMP, and DoD Impact Level (IL) 2, 4 and 5 security mandates.
  • Configure and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, role-based access controls (RBAC), and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles).
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, and incident response within cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), and Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&M).


Qualifications

Minimum Requriements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in cloud security engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing cloud security frameworks, configuring IAM solutions, and conducting vulnerability assessments in cloud environments.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, ZTA, and cloud security monitoring solutions.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize complex project tasks.
  • Active US Government Secret security clearance.

Preferred:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Certified Security, AI Specialty, or Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
  • Portuguese or Spanish language skills.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience with government IT programs and environments.

Clearance Requirement:

  • None required; US Government Secret or TS/SCI preferred
