Job Description

The Grants & Contracts Administrator supports faculty across all School of Medicine departments/units by providing pre-award, proposal development, project management, and business operations support for extramural research funding. This role works onsite in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and supports interdisciplinary, multi-investigator research projects.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate pre-award proposal development for single- and multi-investigator submissions.
* Advise faculty on funding opportunity requirements and proposal planning.
* Prepare and submit internal routing documents (e.g., ePSRS), budgets, justifications, and required approvals.
* Assemble, format, review, and edit proposal components for compliance, clarity, and responsiveness to sponsor guidelines.
* Ensure adherence to sponsor, School of Medicine, and University policies and regulatory requirements.
* Track proposals from submission through award or rejection and maintain complete documentation, including electronic filing.
* Review Just-in-Time materials, progress reports, supplements, and amended submissions.
* Provide project management support, including timelines and collaborative writing coordination.
* Identify funding opportunities and support faculty research development strategies.
* Organize and deliver grants-related training for faculty and staff.
* Collaborate with SOM departments and central research administration offices.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

4 years of research administration experience. Knowledge of current grants and contracts compliance regulations and policies at national, state and local levels.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $52,915.20 - $70,380.00 annually
Grade: GGS - 010
