The Salvation Army Midland Division Camp Mihaska located in Bourbon, Missouri, is looking for a Sweet Shop Office Assistant! We are looking for an individual age 16 or older to fill this position. This is a full-time temporary summer position that will start on June 01,2026 and will end July 31, 2026. The pay is $300 per week.

Essential Functions



  • Adhere to Safe From Harm guidelines and embody The Salvation Army's mission and values.
  • Set up, maintain, and tear down program locations.
  • Deliver program supplies as needed and ensure said supplies are returned to the proper storage.
  • Assist with program leadership as needed.
  • Manage staff activities in the Sweet Shop.
  • Assist with registration by collecting funds to open Sweet Shop accounts.
  • Secure collected funds in the safe after each Free Time.
  • Manage all sweet shop accounts.
  • Inventory supplies daily. Report needed supply items to the DYS.
  • Secure the sweet shop after each free time (clean the machines, empty trash, restock shelves, mop the floor, turn the lights off, and lock the doors.)
  • Report staff and maintenance problems to the DYS.
  • Prepare camper refunds at the end of each camp session.
  • Distribute camper refunds to Corps Officer's/Leaders at camper check-out.
  • Work on projects assigned by the DYS
  • Be present at all meals, meetings, and programs unless otherwise directed.
  • Be available to provide spiritual direction to campers as needed.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner, courteous treatment of staff, visitors and campers; respect of other's property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about campers, co-workers and supervisors.


Minimum Qualifications

Example: High School Diploma or equivalent, previous work with youth activities and community center is desirable. Good communication skills. Able to read and write well. Relate well with youth and children. Requires basic verbal communications with children and other employees. Valid drivers' license (including E license to transport children) and pass TSA MVR is a plus. Must be certified by American Red Cross (ARC) in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.

Physical and Working Conditions

Capable of participating in camp activities. Frequently lifts 25 pounds, occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and move 50 or more pounds using dolly/cart/truck. Some work will be outdoors in the heat.
