Pipeline Construction Director

Building on our past. Ready for the future.
Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

You join Worley at a point where scale, complexity, and environment demand seasoned leadership. As a Pipeline Construction Director, you operate at the intersection of strategy and field execution-bringing discipline, foresight, and calm authority to some of the largest and most challenging pipeline projects in the world.

You are trusted to lead construction delivery across vast geographies and extreme conditions, including arctic and sub-arctic environments, where logistics, safety, and execution rigor are critical to success.

You play an integral role in shaping how large-scale pipeline construction programs are planned, governed, and delivered-ensuring predictable outcomes while protecting people, communities, and the environment.

Purpose of the role
You will be responsible for providing overall direction and project management leadership for pipeline construction activities on one major project or across multiple complex global projects or programs. Your purpose is to ensure safe, on-schedule delivery within or below budget and in full alignment with contractual obligations.

You develop a deep understanding of customer objectives, contract terms, and Worley policies, translating that knowledge into executable strategies that drive performance across diverse regions and operating conditions, including remote and arctic environments.

Core Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
*Leading construction strategy, planning, and execution for large, complex global pipeline projects, including major capital programs exceeding $1B in value
*Directing pipeline construction delivery in remote, cold weather, and arctic environments where logistics, seasonal constraints, and environmental sensitivity are critical
*Managing construction execution through project leads and project managers, providing clear direction while empowering teams to deliver results
*Establishing and overseeing long-range pipeline construction plans, schedules, and budgets to meet or exceed contractual commitments
*Ensuring all pipeline construction activities comply with safety, quality, environmental, regulatory, and right-of-way requirements across multiple jurisdictions
*Serving as the senior construction authority for technical, commercial, and execution decisions with long-term and wide-ranging impact
*Partnering closely with clients to align pipeline execution strategies with business objectives, permitting constraints, and stakeholder expectations
*Collaborating with regional and location leadership on matters that materially influence project performance and business results
*Developing and implementing strategic construction programs, policies, and improvement initiatives specific to large-scale pipeline delivery
*Driving continuous improvement in construction systems, processes, and tools, including those required for extreme climate execution
*Leading with a participative management style that promotes accountability, collaboration, and strong field-to-office integration

Key qualifications and capabilities include:
*A university degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
*Typically 20+ years of progressive construction and project management experience, with a strong focus on pipeline projects
*Demonstrated leadership on large global pipeline projects, including billion-dollar capital programs
*Significant experience delivering pipelines in arctic or extreme cold weather environments, including remote logistics and seasonal execution planning
*Broad knowledge of pipeline construction methodologies, project controls, commercial management, and business operations
*Ability to visualize, develop, and implement new construction concepts and execution strategies for complex pipeline systems
*Proven capability to manage multiple complex projects through others while maintaining alignment and accountability
*A collaborative, pragmatic leadership style that balances decisiveness with inclusion
*Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex construction strategies to senior leaders and clients
*Expert understanding of construction systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to mentor teams and elevate organizational capability
