Job Title: Patient Navigator Specialist Location(s): San Francisco, CA Position Summary The Patient Navigator provides non-clinical support to patients and families in an outpatient neurosurgery setting. This role serves as a key liaison to help patients navigate appointments, services, and administrative processes while ensuring a positive care experience. Key Responsibilities
- Schedule patient visits and assist with coordination of surgical procedures.
- Support insurance authorizations and referral processing.
- Maintain routine clerical operations and clinic communications.
- Act as a communication liaison between patients, families, providers, and staff.
- Ensure accurate information flow to support clinic efficiency.
- Deliver high-quality customer service in accordance with UCSF House and Telephone Standards.
- Collaborate with clinic staff and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience scheduling patient visits and/or coordinating surgeries.
- Experience with insurance authorizations and referral workflows.
- Familiarity with Apex (Epic) preferred.
Requirements
- No certifications or licenses required.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
