Software Engineer - Cloud & Backend Top Skills (Most Important) We're looking for strong handson experience in the following: * Backend: .NET, .NET Core, C#, REST APIs * Infrastructure as Code: Terraform * Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP * Containers & Orchestration: Kubernetes About the Role We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a highimpact technology team focused on building and scaling modern, cloudnative software platforms. In this role, you'll help design, build, and maintain sustainable, scalable systems that support missioncritical business capabilities. You'll act as a technical leader-driving architectural decisions, elevating engineering standards, and contributing to special initiatives that improve quality, scale, and delivery velocity. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and influencing technical direction while still being handson. What You'll Do * Design, develop, test, and deploy ntier, webbased applications * Build and maintain core backend services using serviceoriented and distributed architectures * Collaborate with engineering, architecture, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver wellintegrated solutions * Identify opportunities to improve applications and processes; help define platform roadmaps * Maintain, troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing systems * Partner with DevOps teams to adopt and improve CI/CD pipelines and automation * Communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders * Apply strong design patterns and coding best practices to ensure maintainable, scalable solutions What We're Looking For Required Experience * 5+ years of experience designing and implementing complex software systems * Strong experience building solutions from the ground up * 5+ years of handson development using C#, .NET / .NET Core, and SQL Server * Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs (SOAP experience a plus) * Solid understanding of SOA principles, distributed systems, and system integration * Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) * Experience deploying and operating applications in Kubernetes * Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) Strong Technical Foundation In: * SQL Server (stored procedures, views, functions, performance tuning) * Pub/Sub and messaging patterns (e.g., ActiveMQ, EMS, or similar) * Caching strategies and exception handling * Source control tools (Git, TFS, or similar) * Distributed systems integrating legacy and modern technologies Nice to Have * Frontend or clientside experience using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, RxJS * Experience with Node.js, MVC frameworks, NuGet * Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and modern web standards * Unit testing experience using tools such as NUnit, VS Tests, Jasmine/Karma, JUnit, or similar What Success Looks Like * You plan and execute work effectively using available tools and resources * You raise the technical bar through thoughtful design and clean implementation * You communicate clearly and collaborate well across teams * You're motivated by longterm outcomes, not just shortterm fixes Why Join Us * Work on meaningful, highscale systems * Opportunity to influence architecture and engineering standards * Balance of handson coding and technical leadership * Collaborative, qualitydriven engineering culture Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
