Kingwood Pines Hospital (a University Health Services facility) is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Job Summary - Psych Registered Nurse (RN) - TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT (13-WEEKS)

Pay Rate: $60.00/per hour

We are seeking a dedicatedPsychiatric Nurse (RN) - Temporary Assignment to join our team in providing exceptional mental health care at Universal Health Services, Inc. located in the United States. This role is vital in supporting our mission to deliver compassionate and effective healthcare services to our communities. The RN also participates in treatment planning as a member of interdisciplinary team; provides assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status; administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physician; assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations; provide and direct milieu management, and additional tasks as needed. Best candidates for this position will have behavioral health experience, a strong work-ethic, and highly consistent timeliness and attendance.

NOTE: Candidates employed by any UHS facility within the last 6 months are not eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to patients.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Participate in crisis intervention as needed.
  • Uphold compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.

This position is not eligible for benefits.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required. BSN preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience required.Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.

  • CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work. Training is offered during new hire orienation.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills. Ability to relate to those emotionally disturbed and in crisis.
