Job Description:

  • Certify and assist in training production operators
  • Assist management with improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes
  • Make decisions on production holds to disposition lots in a timely manner
  • Operate production equipment as required
  • Initiate, perform, and implement corrective action towards resolving process and equipment problems
  • Perform daily routine checks and qualifications on equipment
  • Perform designated machine calibrations
  • Troubleshoot out of control tool and product issues
  • Write and/or modify operating specifications
  • Write reports to assist in the recommendation of process or equipment changes
  • Write regular progress reports
  • Work with engineers to generate OCAP (Out of Control Action Plan) documents
  • Document new and edited recipes
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize data
  • Work with Document Control to update equipment procedures as needed
  • Interface effectively with personnel from all departments to obtain corporation and coordination of efforts needed to accomplish tasks assigned
  • Generate a detailed passdown for the oncoming shifts and engineers
  • Perform tasks as directed by an engineer
  • Execute experiments under the direction of an engineer
  • Document experiment results

Shift: Back nights (D) every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, every other Saturday 7pm-7:12am

Requirements/Qualifications:

Mandatory Skills

  • Ability to feedback observations to peers clearly and efficiently
  • Ability to execute numerous tasks simultaneously in a high-paced production environment
  • Drives projects to completion with minimal supervision, learns complex chemical equipment processes
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing practices and methods
  • Ability to write documentation and specifications
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use spreadsheets
  • Understand process flows in manufacturing
  • Ability to follow and improve manufacturing processes
  • Basic comprehension of SPC theory, practice, and implementation
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to routine problems
  • Ability to determine whether an issue is a process problem, a product problem, or a tool problem
  • Ability to create and edit recipes, perform machine calibrations and first line troubleshooting on equipment failures
  • Excellent communication skills to interface internally and externally with all levels of an organization and to participate in problem solving/quality improvement activities

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals and technical procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information to management and employees. Ability to write correspondence, speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distributions, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance and correlation techniques
  • Ability to define problems/issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments
  • Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of and experience in Diffusion and or Implant

Education
High school diploma or GED required

Associate of Science degree or greater is preferred

Experience
2+ years experience in semiconductor manufacturing is preferred

Benefits of working at Microchip

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $19-27/hr.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
