As a Security Officer - Residential Patrol in Joliet, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will conduct routine patrols across yards, docks, and warehouse areas, helping to identify and report security-related concerns. You will remain visible, support access control and visitor guidance, complete clear reports, and communicate professionally with site leaders and drivers. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, drivers and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and reporting to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas and perimeter fencing; working environments and conditions may vary by location and weather.
  • Monitor access control points and assist with controlled entry for employees, visitors and/or deliveries, including checking identification and supporting visitor management processes.
  • Support loss prevention and incident response by observing for unusual activity, completing routine reports, and using site systems such as CCTV and/or alarm panels when assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
