Job Description




As a Security Officer - Site Patrol in Rochester, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will assist staff and riders with directions and service needs, communicate clearly by radio and in reports, and respond to issues with integrity, teamwork, and a caring, people-first approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of platforms, terminals, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, verify identification and/or credentials as required by post orders, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or hazards to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing directions, assisting with de-escalation, and coordinating with on-site personnel and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Complete accurate documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate relevant updates during shift briefings and/or post transitions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
