Lubbock Automation Specialist 43699BR Data Mgmt for Financial Resources Position Description The Automation Specialist makes use of training, technical skills, data domain knowledge, and interpersonal effectiveness to partner with business process owners and identify areas of process optimization and automation. This position utilizes a range of approaches and technologies to implement recommended solutions and is responsible for analyzing project outcomes to determine return on investment. Assist with the development, implementation, testing, analysis, and maintenance of software applications and automation workflows in support of optimization and efficiency improvements. This position will partner with campus process owners to identify opportunities for optimization and automation. This position is also responsible for supervising and/or leading the development of new automation projects, directing changes to existing systems, controlling the interfaces between the systems, initiating complex feasibility studies, and making recommendations of the action to be taken. The position is also expected to assist senior departmental management in determining the strategic direction for the area and/or unit and, as such, may interface with key campus leadership. Discretion and sound judgment is expected. About the Department and/or College Data Management for Financial Resources serves as a central resource focused on analytics, data engineering and management, business process automation, and application development. In partnership with various administrative departments, DMFR provides support to the campus community through technical expertise, training, and data analysis. Major/Essential Functions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, data science, MIS, IT or other related areas plus five years related full-time experience OR a Master's degree with one year full-time experience. Preferred Qualifications
