Find your calling at Mercy! Under general supervision, answer all incoming calls; connect all incoming and outgoing calls; page physicians; obtain long distance information and place calls for physicians, personnel and families; provide patient information. Receive class registration & physician referral calls. May serve as Dispatcher for Safety and Security, Maintenance Departments, and other offsite locations. Position Details: Communication Services Operator Full Time Mercy - Fort Smith This position will include the following schedule: 6:30a-2:30p, 6:45a-2:45p, occasional mid-day shift or evening shift Rotating weekends and holidays are required Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Telephone or customer service experience beneficial. Other: o Basic computer and keyboarding skills o Must be able to navigate multiple computer software systems simultaneously o Ability to communicate clearly in English both orally and written o Knowledge of Microsoft Office Details of position: Needs to be comfortable using different programs (MediCall/operator console, Everbridge/mass notification system, Excel, etc.) and multitasking. Basic computer and keyboarding skills Scope of responsibilities: answer/transfer calls page/call physicians take consults answering service afterhours page out codes and alerts manage hospitalists admissions rotations monitor fire panel, HUGS system, weather band & med gas alarms Assists in maintaining and updating on-call schedules with support from clinics and departments. Ability to work in a stationary role for an extended period of time. Mostly daytime position but may include mid or evening shifts as needed for coverage. Rotates every other weekend and holiday.
