Waymo
$158,000—$200,000 USD
United States, New York, New York
Feb 11, 2026

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver-The World's Most Experienced Driver-to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo's fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

At Waymo Insurance, you will work on the cutting edge of emerging risk and related issues surrounding our transformational autonomous driving technology and help drive our business lines forward from technology ideation through scaled commercial deployment. We partner with our legal, public policy, safety, security and privacy experts to evaluate and manage risks for the autonomous driving world to come, advising on insurance trends, evaluating and quantifying product liability, auto, cyber and related risks to ensure we build the appropriate risk and insurance frameworks to support and protect our users around the world. We collaborate with our business development, product partnership, strategy and operations teams in the execution of our business plans to ensure the company's interests are well protected from existing, new and emerging risks. We support the legal, policy and regulatory teams as they optimize our exposure in line with our risk appetite through the review of contracts, evaluation and shaping of emerging law and regulation at both the state and federal level. And we anticipate, quantify and mitigate emerging risk by maintaining active relationships and frequent contact with insurance and AV industry partners.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Head of LRIP Strategy and Operations, with a strong dotted line to the Head of Risk & Insurance.

You will:

  • Internal Project Management (R&I): Serve as the central Project Manager for the Risk & Insurance team, orchestrating internal workflows, tracking team-wide objectives, and ensuring the timely execution of core initiatives and operational goals.
  • Metric Tracking: Lead the annual budgeting process and financial tracking while overseeing crucial reporting structures-including QBRs, claims metrics-to ensure fiscal discipline and transparency.
  • Technical Program Liaison: Act as the primary strategic bridge between the Risk & Insurance and other internal teams such as TPM and PM teams to drive the implementation of complex technology, data, and insurance and claims-related projects.
  • Systems Innovation & Automation: Partner with claims and actuarial teams to design and deploy custom tooling, data visualization dashboards, and automated operational workflows that enhance team productivity and data-driven decision-making.
  • Operational Infrastructure & Partner Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of critical regulatory and operational documentation (e.g., ID Cards, COIs) and lead the end-to-end onboarding and management of external partners, including TPAs and brokers.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and lead a comprehensive communication and engagement strategy for internal and external partners, including the management and the delivery of quarterly insurance insights and newsletters.
  • Showcase & Event Leadership: Direct the end-to-end coordination and project management of high-profile internal and external showcases, including the planning and execution of flagship events.

You have:

  • Industry Experience: Experience in insurance operations, claims administration, risk management, or a similar complex operational environment.
  • Project Management Mastery: Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional timelines, orchestrate internal workflows, and track team objectives (OKRs).
  • Data & Tooling Fluency: Experience guiding data and tooling projects-defining business requirements for dashboards and automation-rather than direct technical implementation (you know what to ask for, even if you don't build the SQL yourself).
  • Operational Execution: Experience managing vendor lifecycles (contracting, onboarding, performance tracking) and critical documentation (filings, COIs).
  • Strategic Communication: Excellent written skills for executive reporting, with experience managing financial tracking (budgets) or Quarterly Business Review (QBR) processes.
  • Exceptional Organization Skills:Proven ability to thrive in a hyper-growth, high-velocity environment. You are an operational air traffic controller who can juggle complex logistical deadlines alongside strategic initiatives with autonomy and urgency.

We prefer:

  • Background in the mobility or AV sector.

Travel:

  • Up to 50% travel may be required to support events and coordinate between SF and NYC hubs.
