The Westfield Specialty Intern Program is a paid, ten-week program that offers students the opportunity to obtain firsthand insight into the insurance business. Every day you'll learn and develop your skills but you'll also have a clear and supportive path ahead of you. You'll gain the confidence to take on real projects, build your network and learn from senior leaders across our business. We are seeking Intern candidates to work with our Marketing team in our New York, NY office.

Program Elements Include:

Participants in the Westfield Specialty Summer Intern Program are immersed in the day-to-day operations of a fast-moving, growing insurance company. You will gain valuable, hands-on experience and insurance industry knowledge during the 10-week program. As a summer intern you will work side-by-side with industry leaders on dynamic projects that provide ample opportunity for challenges, learning and achievement. This is a paid internship. Intern will be paid on an hourly basis at the rate of $25/hour.

The Marketing Intern will support the Marketing team in executing strategies that enhance brand awareness, engage target audiences, and support key business initiatives. This role is ideal for a motivated and creative individual interested in gaining handson experience across multiple areas of marketing, including digital content, social media, analytics, research, and campaign coordination.

Content & Social Media

  • Assist in creating, editing, and scheduling content for social media channels.

  • Support development of blog posts, email campaigns, newsletters, and internal communications.

  • Help design basic visual assets using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

Marketing Operations & Campaigns

  • Support planning and execution of marketing campaigns, programs, and events.

  • Coordinate logistics for webinars, promotional events, and internal/external communications.

  • Update marketing calendars and track deadlines, deliverables, and assets.

Research & Analytics

  • Conduct market, audience, and competitor research to inform marketing strategies.

  • Collect and analyze performance data from digital platforms (social media, website metrics, email platforms).

  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing insights and campaign results.

Administrative & Project Support

  • Maintain organized documentation of marketing materials, brand assets, and project files.

  • Assist with crossfunctional coordination with teams such as Sales, HR, and Communications.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for new campaigns and content.

  • Currently enrolled student enrolled at a 4 year college or university pursuing either a Bachelors or Masters degree (required); Strong preference for Marketing, Communications or Business majors

  • Strong GPA preferred (Minimum GPA of 3.2 required)

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Leadership experience through work or involvement in community service, athletics, clubs, or other activities preferred

  • Technically adept/digitally savvy

  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and digital platforms.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to be onsite in office 4 days a week
