The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA) is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of English to teach composition and, if needed, developmental writing for 2026-2027 academic year. This is a one-year position with the potential for a second-year renewal. The Visiting Assistant Professor of English will be expected to teach four 3-credit sections of composition-related courses each semester, which may include developmental writing and/or co-requisite composition.

Essential Functions

  • Teaching four (4) courses per semester in the writing sequence, including developmental writing.
  • Holding office hours to meet with students as needed.
  • Also encouraged but not required: participation in program assessment; department service; professional development; and professional and scholarly activities.

Required Education

  • ABD in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a closely related field.
    o Completed doctoral degree is preferred.

Required Experience

  • Experience of at least three (3) academic years serving as instructor of record in college-level writing, which may include developmental writing courses. The committee is particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience working with varied (including non-traditional, underprepared, etc.) student populations and/or in an open admissions college environment.
