Job Summary

The Rio Salado College Testing Department encompasses multiple locations throughout Maricopa County and offers a wide range of assessments to students and community members. The Student Service Analyst is part of the management team that supervises staff and supports Testing Services by providing operational planning, recommendations for program enhancements, problem resolution, technical assistance and coordination in projects and activities for the day-to-day operation of the Testing Department.

Essential Functions

35% - Provides leadership and oversight of the Testing Department's daily operations, including direct supervision and management of part-time testing technicians at all Testing Center locations. Responsible for part-time staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and training, as well as overseeing time and labor functions such as scheduling, timekeeping, attendance, and leave coordination. Serves as the manager on duty for evening hours and supports the management team in ensuring department activities and services run smoothly during all hours of operation. Acts as a primary point of contact to support staff, answer questions, and provide guidance across multiple locations.

30% - Develops, manages, and oversees staff schedules for all Testing Center locations and virtual services to ensure appropriate coverage during all hours of operation. Monitors staffing levels and testing demand and proactively addresses coverage gaps. Collaborates with team members to ensure sufficient staffing and provides coverage at Testing Center locations as needed to support continuous, smooth operations, minimizing any service disruptions. Conducts site visits to build positive relationships with staff and the community at each location, observe operations, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure alignment with departmental goals, policies, and service standards.

25% - Administers a variety of exams while providing front-line customer service, technical support, and resolution of escalated issues for staff, students, and test candidates. Serves as a subject-matter expert on testing policies and procedures and academic integrity; supports staff in implementing best practices for test administration. Communicates updates to staff, Faculty, and other stakeholders. Ensures Testing Department compliance with contractual, regulatory, and partner requirements; collaborates with vendors and departments to support Testing Services and test candidate needs.

10% - Coordinates and facilitates Testing Department meetings, presentations, and training activities. Initiates correspondence to ensure department communication platforms, websites, phones, and other systems reflect accurate information, including closures. Leads or supports special projects. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience hiring and leading or supervising staff
B. Experience working in an academic Testing environment with knowledge of software and programs specific to academic Testing
C. Experience with staff scheduling, staffing-related planning, or coordinating staffing
D. Experience resolving complex or escalated issues in a customer service or student services environment
E. Experience collaborating or building relationships with faculty, cross-departmental colleagues, or external partners
F. Experience developing and delivering presentations or facilitating meetings and training
G. One (1) year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years

Special Working Conditions

This is an in-person position at the Rio Salado College Tempe Testing Center located at 2323 W. 14th Street Tempe, AZ 85281. Travel to other Testing Center locations may be required for training and coverage purposes. Occasional Saturdays and evenings required. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen. May be required to lift or carry up to #25lbs

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
