Job Description

SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for developing and sustaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for PCC Structurals - Tilton, in accordance with industry standards including ISO9001/AS9100 and requires a broad understanding of manufacturing business processes and how they interact with and impact the QMS. Additionally, this position develops and leads auditing efforts as they pertain to regulatory bodies and customer auditing events. This effort ensures nonconformities are identified, corrective actions are implemented, and certifications are maintained. As a Quality Management System Engineer at PCC Structurals - Tilton, you will be a critical member of the Team and have the opportunity to partner with employees across the plant to ensure the products have the highest level of quality that our customers expect.

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • The individual shall perform work in a safe manner by following all safety rules and actively provide recommendations to support and maintain a safe work environment.
  • This position does not have direct reports but will be responsible for managing efforts as they pertain to the QMS and auditing functions which will include managing teams. This role works directly with all QMS process owners across business departments to ensure active engagement and compliance with their portion(s) of the QMS.
  • The position will require preparation of the QMS to be compliant (not qualified) with AS13100 by January 2027.
  • The individual is responsible for hosting/performing internal and external audits for customer and regulatory bodies. Additionally, the individual is responsible for ensuring all post-audit actions and activities are addressed in a timely manner to close the audit.
  • The individual is responsible for training others to the QMS, and ensuring that their competence and understanding of the QMS is adequate.
  • There is no travel requirement for this role, however, opportunities to visit other PCC plants for continuous improvement, best practices, quality events, etc. may be considered.
  • The individual is responsible for leading management reviews, risk assessments, 6S events, continuous improvement activities, and drive associated actions to closure.
  • The individual shall investigate QMS compliance concerns and establish corrective action by working with the respective departments as required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • BA/BS degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with a QMS in a disciplined regulated industry (ideally aerospace, commercial and military) and regulatory surveillance experience preferred.
  • Experience leading individuals and/or teams and managing individuals to be completed on time.
  • Experience with implementing and/or managing a quality system that is ISO9001/AS9100/NADCAP compliant.
  • Experience with internal and external auditing. Ideal candidate is a certified Lead Auditor.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, maintain and develop procedures, controlled documents, and processes.
  • Experience with business application implementation projects, including being an active contributor on projects with scheduled deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience with APQP/PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Gauge R&R, preferred.
  • Knowledge of investment casting processes preferred but not required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform and host internal and external audits. The position will require Lead Auditor certification, but not required at the time of hire. Training will be provided as needed.
  • Willing to be trained or be sent to training for additional education in a fast-paced and growing industry.
  • Ability to work well individually as with a multidisciplinary team in large-and small-scale projects. Additionally, manage individuals and/or groups for QMS related events.
  • Versed in basic Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Flexible schedule, however, the individual should be present during primary operating hours throughout the week.
