Secretary I

This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered.

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

The Secretary II provides intermediate to advanced administrative support and performs a broader range of clerical and office coordination duties. This position requires greater independence, judgment, and proficiency with DMDC/DHRA software tools and government business processes.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Secretary I 20-22/hour +5.55/hour Health and Welfare Benefit

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Secretary I Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform a full range of administrative and clerical functions, including advanced word processing and document preparation

  • Prepare and format briefings, correspondence, reports, and presentations for leadership review

  • Screen and prioritize inquiries, correspondence, and requests for action

  • Maintain complex electronic filing and document management systems

  • Coordinate calendars, meetings, and logistical support for staff and leadership

  • Track tasks and actions using Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2), Task Management Tool (TMT), ServiceNow, or similar systems

  • Ensure timely distribution and follow-up of taskings and correspondence

  • Utilize standard DMDC/DHRA software tools and customized government COTS products to support office operations

  • Ensure compliance with records management, security, and administrative policies

  • Provide guidance or support to junior administrative staff, as assigned

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Secretary I Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

High school diploma or GED required

Associate degree or administrative training preferred

Strong administrative and organizational skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Adobe Pro, and Visio

Experience using government task management and workflow systems (e.g., ETMS2, TMT, ServiceNow)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines

Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Ability to coordinate and track multiple tasks and assignments

Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
