Description

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Cytopathologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services from primary and preventive care, to specialty services for children and adults, all designed to keep our community healthy.The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Opportunity Details:

  • Sign-outof general anatomic pathology cases, including surgical pathology and both GYN and non-Gyn Cytology.
  • Supervise cytotechnologists and ensure quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) compliance for Cytology.
  • Maintain cytology statistics, SOP manuals, and regulatory compliance for all inspecting agencies.
  • Participate in Cytology proficiency testing and reporting.
  • Intra-operative consultations.
  • Perform ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies of palpable and non-palpable lesions in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Conduct rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) for specimen adequacy and preliminary interpretation.
  • Provide ongoing education to fellows, residents, medical students, and laboratory personnel in cytopathology and FNA technique.
  • Review of abnormal Hematology slides.
  • Participation in interdisciplinary conferences, including tumor boards and specialty-specific meetings.
  • Performance and sign-out of postmortem examinations.
  • Participation in departmental quality assurance activities.
  • Teaching of medical students and clinical residents.
  • Providing consultative input to referring physicians regarding lab findings.
  • Occasional night or weekend coverage for frozen sections may be required.
Qualifications
  • Board Eligibility/Board Certification in Anatomic andClinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology
  • Board Eligibility/Board Certificationin Cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology
  • Completion of a Cytopathology Fellowship
  • New York State Physician License

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $288,000* based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $412,320**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimatedannual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projectedbonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • LifeInsurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
