Description

The Packaging Operator sets up, operates, and maintains production and packaging machines to produce gift presentation products. This role ensures quality standards are met, troubleshoots equipment issues, and supports a safe, efficient work environment.

Starting pay is $21.35/hour plus $1.25/hour for 2nd shift differential (total $22.60/hour).

This position is on 2nd Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am), Monday through Friday

This position is located in Leavenworth, Kansas. Relocation is not provided.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of production and packaging machines
  • Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform preventive maintenance
  • Conduct quality inspections on in-process and finished goods; remove defective products
  • Accurately complete production, defect, and shipping documentation in SAP
  • Collaborate with team members to solve problems, drive results, and share process updates
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area; follow all safety protocols
  • Support multiple assignments and departments as needed; demonstrate flexibility
  • Track and replenish packaging materials to minimize downtime
  • Participate in performance dialogues and team problem-solving activities
  • Learn and apply a wide range of quality systems and product specifications



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Ability to grasp, lift and carry product weighing up to 15 lbs frequently and 65 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand and walk approximately 90% of the time
  • Ability to reach, twist, bend, perform repetitive hand/wrist motion, and use fine motor skills 90% of the time
  • Ability to occasionally work at or above shoulder level



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Basic math, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to understand the computer and ordering systems and successfully operate both systems
  • Ability to set up area and work under pressure to meet production targets
  • Ability to understand and follow established safety procedures
  • Ability to accept other duties as assigned
  • Ability to learn and retain knowledge
  • Ability to work as a team member
