Job Description

The Director of Marketing is a leadership role responsible for shaping and executing Dewberry's national architecture marketing strategy to advance brand recognition, drive revenue growth, and strengthen market positioning across multiple market segments and geographies.

Reporting to the President of Dewberry Architects Inc. and Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Marketing leads an integrated marketing team and partners closely with Market Segment Leaders, Business Development Directors, and Operations Leadership to align brand strategy with strategic growth priorities.

This role requires a forward-thinking marketing leader who understands the unique dynamics of the AEC industry, including multiple selection and procurement methods, thought leadership, client-centric storytelling, and pursuit excellence.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

National Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership

    In collaboration with DAI leadership, develop and implement a comprehensive, practice-wide marketing strategy aligned with strategic plan objectives.
  • Elevate and protect the firm's brand across all platforms, ensuring consistency of voice, visual identity, and positioning.
  • Strengthen the firm's reputation as a design and thought leader across targeted markets and geographies
  • Guide brand messaging to clearly articulate differentiation, expertise, and value proposition.

Integrated Campaigns & Market Positioning

  • Define market-focused campaigns that support Dewberry's Market Segments and work with Communications Teams on execution / delivery
  • Partner with Market Segment Leaders to define positioning strategies and content priorities.
  • Translate strategic growth goals into measurable marketing initiatives.
  • Drive visibility in priority regions and emerging markets.
  • Contribute to content development including thought leadership, case studies, white papers, award submissions, and media placements.
  • Expand digital engagement strategies that enhance brand awareness and lead generation.

Pursuit Marketing & Proposal Excellence

  • Establish standards for pursuit strategy, storytelling, and qualifications packages.
  • Support high-profile pursuits with positioning, messaging, and interview preparation.
  • Ensure alignment between marketing narratives and client relationship strategies.
  • Elevate win themes and differentiators in competitive pursuits.

Public Relations & Industry Presence

  • Lead national PR strategy, including media outreach and editorial opportunities.
  • Position firm leaders as industry voices through speaking engagements, panels, and publications.
  • Coordinate award strategies that reinforce design excellence and market leadership.
  • Strengthen industry association visibility (AIA, ULI, DBIA, etc.)

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team across multiple offices.
  • Develop clear standards, workflows, and quality benchmarks.
  • Foster collaboration between marketing, business development, and practice leadership.
  • Manage marketing budget, technology tools, and external consultants.
  • Champion innovation in marketing technology and AI-enabled tools.

Success Metrics

  • Increased brand recognition in priority markets.
  • Improved win rates on strategic pursuits.
  • Growth in digital engagement and media presence.
  • Measurable contribution to revenue growth.

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
