As a Mentor, you lead by example, influence campus culture, and help build a high-performing team. Your role is essential in developing compassionate, capable professionals who provide exceptional care. You serve as a trusted guide throughout the hiring, training, and retention process, playing a key part in shaping the future of your campus. Mentor Expectations * Show initiative- every small action leads to a bigger impact * Communicate regularly with new hires, answer questions, and provide guidance on job expectations, company culture and resources * Monitor new hires' progress and report feedback to leadership * Encourage growth through positive feedback and kind, constructive guidance * Respect all backgrounds, perspectives, and learning styles * Support new employees as they build confidence-be accessible and helpful * Participate in mentor trainings and meetings to stay informed and improve your mentor skills * Model patience, encouragement, and professionalism in every interaction Professionalism * Uphold and model Trilogy's Service Standards at all times * Always follow the dress code and personal grooming guidelines * Greet others using the 10-Foot Rule- acknowledge or say hello to anyone within 10 feet * Support and uphold all company policies * Avoid and discourage gossip, negative talk, or any unprofessional behavior * Limit personal cell phone use during shifts, or any behavior that violates company policies * Demonstrate strong communication- clear,respectful, and helpful * Remain calm and professional when resolving conflicts or addressing concerns Hiring and Training * Support job shadows by modeling best practices and highlighting campus strengths. * Serve as a primary resource for new hires-answer questions, provide guidance, and check in often * Guide new employees through important routines, processes, and expectations during onboarding * Encourage questions and curiosity- create a safe space to learn * Promote teamwork by encouraging collaboration and respect from the start Retention and Engagement * Make a strong, positive first impression * Build trust by being approachable, supportive, and dependable * Maintain regular communication with campus leaders about new hire progress and needs * Help new hires engage with the team and participate in campus events * Reinforce a sense of belonging and purpose at the campus * Be a reliable, approachable presence that supports a culture of teamwork and excellence Reliability * Set the standard with consistent attendance and exceptional performance * Must have fewer than 5 attendance points overall, with no more than 3 at the time of Mentor selection * Must not have any disciplinary actions beyond a verbal warning * Show up consistently ready to mentor, with a positive attitude * Maintains compliance with annual Regulatory Training Scheduling Expectations * Be flexible-support training across shifts when needed * Participation in the on-call schedule is strongly encouraged for all Mentors and is required for Nurse Mentors * Mentors must maintain full-time status to remain eligible * If moving to part-time status, a campus review is required to continue mentoring * PRN employees are not eligible to serve as mentors * Keep leadership informed of your availability for mentor duties Annual Mentor Review Mentors will participate in an annual review to ensure they continue to meet role expectations. This review will assess key areas such as attendance, professionalism, communication, and overall impact. Please note: Mentors may be removed from their role at any time if expectations are not met-not just during the annual review process. Removal from the Mentor role may also result in the loss of Mentor premium pay, as outlined in the Mentor Removal Guide.
