Role Overview

The Grants Financial Manager is responsible for the financial management and compliance of awarded grants. This role owns post-award budgeting, forecasting, reimbursements, and financial reporting, ensuring strict adherence to federal and state grant requirements.

Core Responsibilities

Post-Award Grant Financial Management



  • Establish and maintain grant budgets, cost tracking, and forecasts upon award.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure accurate classification under GAAP and Uniform Guidance.
  • Track federal and matching funds separately and ensure financial data integrity.


Compliance & Audit Readiness



  • Ensure compliance with applicable requirements (e.g., 2 CFR 200, Davis-Bacon, Buy America).
  • Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation for all grant transactions.
  • Support internal reviews and external audits by providing financial records and explanations.


Reimbursements & Financial Reporting



  • Prepare and submit reimbursement requests with required supporting documentation.
  • Produce required financial reports (e.g., SF-425) and track receivables and cash flow.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to align grant reporting with monthly close.


Internal Coordination



  • Partner with Engineering, Legal, FP&A, and Accounting to support financial modeling, align budgets and project changes.
  • Provide internal financial status updates and compliance risk insights to leadership.
  • Support the Grants Administrator with post-award financial data and reporting inputs.
  • And other responsibilities as assigned by management.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; 5+ years in accounting or grant finance
  • Experience with federal grants, audits, and compliance-heavy environments
  • Strong knowledge of 2 CFR 200 and financial reporting; SAP and Excel proficiency
  • CPA preferred
