Project Manager

Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and leadership of assigned projects, which may vary in scope, value, complexity, and subject matter. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and deliver intended value to the organization. Projects may be local, regional, or national, and involve multiple disciplines, stakeholders across the organization, and external vendors. As a member of the Project Management Organization (PMO), this position also supports the development and implementation of project management processes and resources to ensure all projects meet specified goals and requirements.

Job Duties:

*Support Zoetis Reference Labs colleagues in managing projects and utilizing standardized project methodologies approved by the PMO.

*Lead and manage multiple, concurrent projects from initiation through delivery, including laboratory expansion, new test or instrument implementation, operational improvements, and system upgrades.

*Develop comprehensive project plans and define scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budgets. Track and report project status to stakeholders and leadership.

*Coordinate with cross-functional teams (lab operations, IT, QA, medical/scientific directors, client services, supply chain).

*Facilitate project meetings, manage agendas, document actions and decisions, and follow up to ensure accountability.

*Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies; develop and implement mitigation plans.

*Oversee change management, including stakeholder communication, documentation, training, and adoption.

*Liaise with vendors and external partners for project-related deliverables.

*Monitor project KPIs and conduct post-implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement.

*Ensure project quality, compliance, and alignment with organizational standards and goals. Aid teams in removing roadblocks and finding solutions.

*Perform other projects and work as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, healthcare, business, or a related field (master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in laboratory, life sciences, or healthcare settings.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certification highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated track record managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Knowledge of laboratory workflows, LIS/LIMS, instrumentation, and regulatory environments preferred.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana).

Technical Skills Required:

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Results-oriented; able to manage priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable and resilient in fast-paced, changing environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and a process improvement focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; professionalism in all interactions.
  • Team player willing to contribute at any level to ensure project success.
  • Effective at driving collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled at preparing and delivering formal presentations; comfortable with public speaking in small groups.
  • Able to work effectively in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.

Physical Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work on a computer for extensive time periods.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and work efficiently while remote.
  • Travel required (up to 25%).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $72,000 - $118,000. Our salary ranges are

determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range

for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional

factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation
