RESPONSIBILITIES

Fleet/category strategy & financial management (core of the role)

  • Support the crane category as an internal rental/fleet business: connect project demand signals to fleet positioning, pricing, and lifecycle planning.

  • Lead and/or support financial forecasting and budgeting for crane utilization, revenue recovery, maintenance/repair spend, and logistics/transfer costs; support monthly/quarterly review cadence and variance narratives.

  • Build and maintain demand forecasts (near-term scheduling + longer-range pipeline), identifying risk periods (peaks, gaps, and regional constraints) and recommending mitigation (moves, vendor coverage, timing adjustments).

  • Support business case development for fleet additions/replacements (capital planning, utilization assumptions, lifecycle and total-cost framing), including post-deployment learning loops to improve future investment decisions.

  • Contribute to rate strategy and internal cost recovery alignment, balancing competitiveness for project teams with sustainability of fleet ownership.

Deployment, logistics, and vendor management

  • Equipment planning and scheduling with internal project teams, Equipment Solutions teammates, and third-party vendors (including supplemental crane providers when needed).

  • Coordinate crane logistics planning (mobilization/demobilization, transportation alignment, and schedule risk mitigation).

  • Support vendor relations and sourcing efforts for key crane-related services (rental partners, hauling, specialty support, OEM/dealer service channels).

  • Help ensure fleet readiness through coordination with maintenance/service planning stakeholders and reliable tracking of inspections, service intervals, and equipment condition fundamentals.

Systems, analytics, and process improvement

  • Support rental software contract management and high-quality data (asset records, utilization/billing accuracy, move history, service tracking).

  • Create and maintain reporting tools/dashboards that translate fleet activity into business insights (utilization, cost drivers, forecast accuracy, and vendor performance).

  • Lead department initiatives for standard work, playbooks, training, and continuous improvement (with a bias toward safety, clarity, and repeatability).

    People leadership

  • Help manage and develop non-craft team members; support coaching, training, and team performance within the crane program.

  • Support innovation by encouraging new process development and data-driven decision-making.
