We are seeking a Dispatcher for County Materials at our Roberts, WI, location.

The Dispatcher is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating daily truck routes to meet customer delivery requirements and internal production schedules. This role acts as the central communication hub between drivers, customers, and operations to ensure efficient, on-time, and accurate deliveries. The Dispatcher prepares delivery documentation, updates dispatching systems, maintains detailed records, and supports day-to-day fleet and logistics operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in transportation, logistics, trucking dispatch, and customer communication within a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:


  • Plan, schedule, and dispatch regional loads based on customer orders and production schedules.
  • Communicate with customers to confirm delivery requirements, timelines, and service expectations.
  • Assign drivers to routes and provide clear, timely delivery instructions.
  • Enter routing and assignment data into dispatching and fleet management software with high accuracy.
  • Prepare delivery tickets and required documentation.
  • Support drivers with routing, scheduling, and delivery questions throughout the day.
  • Use multi-line phone systems, two-way radios, and dispatch software to coordinate fleet activities.
  • Perform administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and generating reports.
  • Assist in resolving delivery issues, customer concerns, and schedule conflicts.
  • Support schedule adjustments during peak production or high-volume periods.
  • Assist with management reporting, fleet documentation, and operational updates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall logistics and fleet operations.


Work Environment:


  • Primarily an indoor office or dispatch center environment (90 -100%).
  • Occasional work outdoors or in operational areas to support logistics needs (0 -10%).
  • May work near moving equipment, trucks, or machinery during coordination.
  • Fast-paced work environment requiring multitasking, rapid communication, and strong attention to detail.
  • Regular interaction with drivers, operations managers, customer service teams, and production staff.


Physical Requirements:


  • Frequent sitting with intermittent standing or walking.
  • Occasional stair climbing and brief mobility throughout the facility.
  • Occasional repetitive motions, filing, and rapid task switching.
  • Frequent computer use, keyboarding, close vision, hearing, and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple calls, radio traffic, and software systems simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally.


Experience & Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in dispatching, trucking, logistics, supply chain, or fleet operations.
  • Familiarity with transportation terminology, DOT considerations, and routing practices.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Associate degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
  • Experience in construction materials, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
  • Experience using dispatch or fleet management software (TMS/FMS platforms).
