Description

The Sales Representative - PSD Prime Sales is responsible for promoting products and services to existing customer base while expanding on that base to obtain territorial as well corporate goals. Develops assigned territory, implements territorial sales plans to grow business and maintain current customer base. Influences and grow sales with new business opportunities within assigned market area/territory. Continually collaborates with PSD Sales to achieve strategic goals and address targeted market growth opportunities.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions:



  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Responsible for the sales and marketing of electric power generators and equipment for assigned markets and accounts
  • Provides service and support of existing customer base
  • Sources new business opportunities
  • Prepares and presents sales agreements and presentations
  • Completes and submits sales reports and documentation to maintain the established business system/processes and business goals
  • Facilitates effective, timely and complete communications between internal team members, Engineers and other parties regarding equipment designs, specifications, and all technical aspects of current and future projects
  • Manages customer and internal relationships in a manner that promotes the goals of the business unit
  • Prepares territory and call plans, sales reports, expense, and sales activity reports
  • Develops new accounts and maintains accounts currently assigned
  • Formulates bids on new and existing jobs and projects
  • Identifies and acquires new market opportunities
  • Receives customer orders and serves as the customer contact point
  • Collaborates with other departments to generate sales leads and sell the store
  • Assists in familiarizing customer on equipment
  • Aids in implementing, sustaining, and developing quality improvement processes that focus on safety, financials, operations, and customer service
  • Maintains records of sales or other business transactions
  • Prepares sales or other contracts
  • Continually develops self in ways that brings value to the customer and enterprise
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Industry knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical engineering principles applied to equipment applications including, but not limited to material handling, mining, gas compression, well service, drilling and electric power generation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)
  • Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills with ability to build long term business relationships
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and applicable Caterpillar software and other applications
  • Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem- solving and decision-making
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • First-class organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline oriented
  • Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, and communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations and design drawings
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences



Education and Experience:



  • Minimum of five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required
  • BA or BS Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • None



Travel:



  • Up to 50% travel is to be expected
  • Extensive driving required; occasional overnight travel required
  • Valid Driver's License



Physical Requirements:



  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets
  • This position involves certain periods of time in a stationary position, standing, walking and occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, balancing, and reaching associated with the movement, set up and tear down of rental equipment
  • Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue
  • Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations



Work Environment:



  • This job is generally performed in a professional office; in environmentally controlled conditions
  • Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to extreme weather conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold and humidity
  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
