DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Security Specialist 3, you will be assigned to the Security Operations section, that involves administrative and advanced technical work directing security hardware and software infrastructure for enterprise security administration, planning, and design. All activities are based on and in support of the public policy objectives of the Governor's Policy Office as well as security and network policies of the Enterprise Information Security Office (EISO) in support of the Commonwealth. This role implements and maintains security policies at access points including the Internet, delivery center firewalls, data center load balancers, delivery center network intrusion prevention, delivery center network threat prevention, and remote access VPN. You will direct a team of contractors to oversee procedures for identifying network security policy violations, review audit logs and take appropriate action in the event of suspected violations. This position also works with delivery centers and vendors on network access requirements. Additionally, this role troubleshoots and resolves network and application problems and technical issues through the helpdesk. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, you will have to report to the office 2 to 3 days a week depending on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Security Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience performing technical work in information technology security, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
- Two years of experience performing technical work in information technology security, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires you to possess four or more years of full-time professional experience working with a load balancer software (e.g., A10, AWS, Azure, vmware etc.)
- This particular position also requires possession of a CompTIA Security+ Certification.
