Temple University's Office of Institutional Advancement is looking for an Assistant Dean of Development & Alumni Relations - Health Sciences Position Summary: The Assistant Dean for Development and Alumni Relations for the Health Sciences reports to the Assistant Vice President for Health Sciences and works in close partnership with the respective Deans. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising and alumni engagement strategies, as well as leading and managing staff and operations in support of the Schools of Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Podiatry. The Assistant Dean will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with current and prospective donors, with a primary focus on individuals and organizations capable of making gifts of $100,000 or more. This individual will build a robust pipeline of philanthropic support aligned with the strategic priorities of each school and the broader Health Sciences Campus. Working collaboratively with the Lewis Katz School of Medicine Institutional Advancement team and Temple University's central Institutional Advancement operation, the Assistant Dean will leverage shared resources, systems, and expertise to grow both philanthropic revenue and the donor base for the assigned units. Serving as a key liaison between school-based and central advancement efforts, the Assistant Dean will ensure alignment between unit priorities and institutional goals. The Assistant Dean will serve as a member of the Deans' administrative leadership teams and will develop and implement advancement strategies that directly support the Deans' academic, clinical, and research priorities. The role requires close collaboration with senior administrators, faculty, and colleagues across Temple University. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, entrepreneurial professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This individual must be strategic, organized, and intellectually curious, with a demonstrated track record of building strong donor relationships and facilitating meaningful philanthropic partnerships. Success in this role requires sound judgment, professionalism, and a collaborative leadership style, as well as a strong understanding of the principles, ethics, and best practices of effective fundraising. Performs other duties as assigned This position requires a background check and Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service. Required Education & Experience: *Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of progressively responsible higher/education fundraising experience with a proven track record of closing six to seven figure gifts. *An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: *Possess strong written, presentation, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills *Maintain a sincere appreciation for people and how they are each uniquely motivated *Demonstrate initiative and ability to work in a timely manner with multiple deadlines and priorities *Experience in employee development and performance management *Demonstrate ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds *Ability and willingness to travel and work evening and weekend hours required *Exceptional technical with knowledge of Banner or similar donor management software/CRM.
