The Information Services (IS) Scrum Master is accountable for planning and overseeing the development and support of key software products within the IS department. This person will work with the Product Owner to develop sprints and manage the releases and will work under the direction of the PMO Manager.

Our Scrum Master Team:



  • Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
  • Coach the team on how to get the most of self-organization.
  • Periodic assessment of the team gauging Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Remove impediments and/or guide the team to remove impediments.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised with an emphasis of constructive feedback and problem solving.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution, getting work done without assigning or dictating the work.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example.
  • To effectively perform the Scrum Master role, the employee must be able to work in a hybrid environment and support both remote and on-site work based on business and team needs. The employee is required to maintain reliable, high-speed Internet access at their home to ensure effective communication and responsiveness while working remotely, including during on-call, remote support and disaster recovery activities. The role requires regular use of company-approved collaboration and communication tools, such as Microsoft Teams, 8by8 phone services, and other web- based applications.

Education and Experience Requirements:



  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One to three years Scrum Master experience required.
  • In addition, Experience in the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team diligently applied Scrum principles, practices, and theory.


What we look for:



  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with various levels of end users.
  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I).
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
  • Some experience with Waterfall Projects.
  • Experience with full life cycle software development.
  • Second level Scrum Master certification (CSP, PSM II).
  • Experience in the Scrum Master role for at least three years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
  • Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
  • Previous experience as a team lead.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
