Position Summary:

TSC is seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Systems Engineer responsible for understanding business requirements and challenges, identifying/applying appropriateAIor cognitive computing technologies to advance problem solving, provide business efficiencies and execution of technology development for enterprise deployment. Efforts would include development ofAIplatforms andorganizational projects and understanding and implementation of cybersecurity protocols, best practices and Federal compliance requirements to protect sensitive information. The ideal candidate would be located in the Huntsville, AL, Bloomington, IN or DC metro area with the ability to work on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

  • HelpAIproduct managers and business stakeholders understand the potential and limitations ofAIwhen planning new products.
  • Help select and deployAImodels into production; implement and deploy secure AI pipelines.
  • Create/manage APIs and help business customers put results ofAImodels into operations.
  • Develop and/or incorporate AI training content for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Evaluate business use cases and help determine best path forward with regard to application of AI.
  • Provide guidance and support for implementing security and access controls to ensure proper protection of data. Work within established compliance and infrastructure constraints.
  • Collaborate with IT systems, cybersecurity, and enterprise business teams.
  • Provide system administrative support over AI solutions used in the business.
  • Understanding and experience with applying AI related NIST standards and best practices.
  • Keep current of latestAIresearch relevant to the business domain.
  • Research improvements to machine-learning algorithms.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field and 2-4 years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or AI infrastructure roles (equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree possible).
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
  • Experience deploying services using containerized or virtualized environments.
  • Experience with cloud-native AI services (e.g., managed training or inference services).
  • Knowledge ofAI/ ML development (natural language processing / NLP, deep learning, computer vision, etc.). Python, Knowledge of C++, Java, Go / Golang, Scala, or other similar programming language.
  • Familiarity with applying NIST AI Risk Management Frameworks and in the security governance of Generative AI.
  • Understanding of federal data protection standards and regulatory frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with large language model (LLM) workflows (prompting, evaluation, or retrieval-augmented generation pipelines).
  • Experience building or supporting real-time inference systems or event-driven pipelines.
  • Basic experience with infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Understanding of data versioning and experiment tracking workflows.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments with cross-functional teams.
