Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Systems Engineer / Test Analyst to support our Huntsville, AL location.

The Guam Defense System (GDS) Systems Engineer / Test Analyst supports U.S. Army acquisition programs within the Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires, with emphasis on integration of advanced sensors into a Government reference architecture. This role provides systems engineering and independent test expertise for mission-critical fires and tactical data systems. The position focuses on verification, validation, interoperability, and security of complex software-intensive and hardware-integrated defense systems throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

Duties:

    Plan, execute, and document independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) testing for the joint GDS reference architecture systems.
  • Conduct system-level, integration-level, and regression testing of advanced field artillery and tactical data systems .
  • Coordinate and oversee formal and informal test events in collaboration with government program managers, project managers, developers, and operational stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test procedures, and test cases for new software and system releases, documenting discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
  • Analyze system and software requirements to ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and test results in support of acquisition and certification activities.
  • Evaluate system interoperability, performance, and data integrity across joint and coalition interfaces.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve system defects and operational anomalies in coordination with engineering, cybersecurity, and integration teams.
  • Support system integration of software and hardware components, including networked systems, servers, tactical platforms, and fielded configurations.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, test reports, and briefings to support program reviews, milestone decisions, and operational assessments.
  • Serve as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) or support ISSM functions, ensuring implementation of cybersecurity controls, system hardening, and compliance with DoD security policies.
  • Support cybersecurity test activities, vulnerability assessments, and risk mitigation efforts in coordination with RMF and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
  • Provide technical input to system engineering artifacts including Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and system architectures.


Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience performing system, integration, and IV&V testing for defense or mission command systems.
  • Knowledge of Army Fires systems, tactical data systems, or similar C2/mission command platforms.
  • Experience analyzing system and software requirements and developing corresponding test artifacts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder coordination.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Desired Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with joint fires mission command systems.
  • Background in missile, rocket, or fires system testing and evaluation.
  • Experience with network configuration, server installation, and system security hardening.
  • Familiarity with RMF, ISSM/ISSO roles, and DoD cybersecurity compliance.
  • Active or eligible DoD security clearance.
