WHAT TO EXPECT

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Brandon, SD plant, you will be a Continuous Improvement Engineer.



The CI Engineer drives operational excellence by supporting and auditing the Gates Production System (GPS) to ensure data accuracy and meaningful reporting to Operations Leadership. This role partners with site teams to analyze performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement sustainable solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and safety. They will also provide training and coaching on GPS tools and methodologies, helping leverage data effectively to deliver measurable results.

Key responsibilities (to name a few):

  • Lead and implement Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to increase productivity, eliminate waste, and drive sustainable cost reductions across the organization.
  • Maintain and update GPS (Gates Production System) boards, track cost-saving initiatives, and support ongoing continuous improvement activities.
  • Evaluate and optimize plant layout and workflow to maximize production efficiency and material flow.
  • Train and coach site personnel on the Gates Production System, with a focus on using operational data to identify opportunities and drive measurable results.
  • Improve quality, safety, and productivity by leading root cause analysis efforts and implementing effective, long-term corrective actions.
  • Coordinate equipment and space optimization projects to ensure facilities meet evolving production demands.
  • Support the design, integration, and interface of manufacturing equipment, leveraging mechanical and electrical knowledge to enhance performance.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
  • 1-2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and collaborate across multiple levels and locations, including global teams.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to connect operational improvements to overall business impact.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship.
