Position Summary

The Product Owner of Business Intelligence and Reporting leads a team responsible for the development and improvement of BI products and services, to meet internal and regulatory reporting needs across the bank. They are responsible for defining strategy, managing the backlog, ensuring timely delivery, and promoting adoption of products across teams.

The Product Owner works with business leaders to identify and prioritize needs while partnering with Development, other Product Owners, Infrastructure, Risk/Compliance, and vendors to build reliable data sets, reports and tools that enable insights and deliver value across business lines. This position requires an elevated level of strategic thinking and the ability to shift into the details to make informed decisions and support team members when required.

Essential Functions

  • Strategy and Roadmap: Defines and communicates the product vision and roadmap for BI platforms, datasets, dashboards, and reports, prioritizing work based on business value and regulatory/compliance needs. Creates, maintains and clearly communicates with developers and/or vendors, business lines and all stakeholders the goals, backlog, and needs to achieve success.
  • Platform and Report Ownership: Enhances, updates, and supports BI platforms, data models, data sets, dashboards and reports that meet Mascoma Bank's needs regarding quality, functionality, security, availability and performance.
  • Backlog Management: Gathers use-cases, documents requirements and collaborates with stakeholders and technical teams to validate needs, assess feasibility, size effort, and prioritize work. Continuously refining and optimizing the product backlog based on feedback and changing priorities.
  • Agile Delivery: Leads a team responsible for delivery of BI products and services in alignment with software development life cycle and project management policies within the Bank.
  • Change and Incident Management: Responsible for adoption of change and incident management and processes within the BI team in alignment with organizational guidelines and policies, including communication and documentation of all bugs, changes and incidents impacting reports and services available. Drive improvements to minimize future bugs and incidents.
  • Support Management: Supports teams in the identification and investigation of issues and collaborates with IT, product owners and vendors(s) to identify root causes, workarounds, and practical solutions to improve deliverables and responses.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Accountable for maximizing the value of BI products and maintaining subject matter expertise. Monitoring market trends and user feedback to inform product decisions.
Requirements

What You'll Need

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job functions.
  • Minimum of 5 years in data analytics, management or development.
  • Extensive knowledge of data management includes data modeling, transformation, governance and visualization.
  • Demonstrable?expertise in extracting insights from qualitative & quantitative?research.
  • Must be able to work autonomously, stay on timeline, and communicate with different technical skill levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments including listening, determining common goals and translating information between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Work independently to research and analyze information to self-identify opportunities. Able to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
  • Professional appearance; grooming and dress consistent with MSB appearance policy.

  • Must be able to work flexible time schedule including after hours
  • Varied work with a normal expenditure of energy and little or no unusual physical effort?
  • May involve incidental business machine operations
  • Work involves intermittent periods of moving and being stationary
  • Working conditions include well-lit and well-ventilated areas
  • Travel to other Mascoma Bank locations is required for training and occasional meetings
