Distribution Construction Coordinator I: $54,400 - $68,000
Distribution Construction Coordinator II: $66,600 - $83,200
Sr Distribution Construction Coordinator: $75,300 - $100,400
Lead Distribution Construction Coordinator: $88,800 - $118,400

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or as work conditions dictate.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Manager of Distribution Project Management, this role is responsible for organizing, executing, and coordinating line construction activities across Evergy's Distribution organization to ensure alignment with the distribution capital investment plan. The position provides daytoday project controls oversight, including workforce planning, construction cost tracking, schedule visibility, and job assignment coordination. The coordinator serves as a key interface between engineering, scheduling, construction, and project management to ensure distribution line work is executed safely, efficiently, and within financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide strategic and operational support for Time & Equipment construction management, including construction scheduling, cost analysis, unit tracking, and project control measures.
* Utilize digital tools and enterprise systems to monitor design progress, construction readiness, field execution, and financial investment status across programs, work orders, and jurisdictions.
* Collaborate closely with Engineering & Design, Line Construction, Distribution Project Management, Distribution Program Management, Supply Chain, Vegetation Management, Real Estate, and other partners to identify and resolve design, material, and construction constraints.
* Ensure timely updates to construction schedules, design status, material readiness, and jobpackage accuracy.
* Support workforce planning by validating crew needs, contractor capacity, and projected workload by jurisdiction.
* Prepare reports and data packages for regular planning, coordination, and portfolio review meetings.
* Contribute to annual capital planning and workforce resource development by providing input on construction sequencing, material lead times, and delivery risks.
* Generate adhoc analytical reports to support workload balancing, risk identification, and financial forecasting.
* Provide support during storm response and restoration efforts, which may include construction coordination, resource tracking, and status reporting.

Education and Experience Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction project management, project controls, workforce planning, material forecasting, or financial oversight is preferred.
* Preferred experience with enterprise resource systems and business intelligence tools such as Maximo, PowerPlan, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Power BI.
* Strong preference for prior experience in electrical distribution line construction or utility capital project execution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

The ideal candidate will have the demonstrated ability to prioritize work and track many projects of varying complexity and cost across our service territory and must demonstrate the following abilities:

* Technical proficiency - strong skills in Microsoft Office, Power BI, spreadsheet modeling, work management systems, and data validation.
* Excellent communication skills - able to present information clearly to construction, engineering, leadership, and cross functional teams.
* Team orientation - strong interpersonal skills, collaboration mindset, and ability to build effective working relationships.
* Accountability & leadership - able to hold others accountable while remaining coachable, humble, and open to learning.

Licenses, Certification, Bonding and/or Testing Required: PMP or PMI-CP certification is preferred. Valid driver's license required. Must have a safe driving history.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a standard office environment. Must be able to work additional hours on short notice. Some travel may be required. Must have satisfactory work record including good attendance.
