Position Summary:
The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for overseeing and supporting projects focused mainly on Microsoft 365 products, but also involving networking troubleshooting, Windows server management, Azure services such as AVD, and other applications. This position sets up, maintains, and integrates Eskaton's IT systems, encourages user adoption, and leads continuous improvements.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Provide exceptional service to internal customers, including end user training and support.
  • Accurately document all work performed through a ticketing system, including details and outcomes.
  • Oversee requirements gathering, consulting, project planning, design, build, and testing of new and existing software solutions to meet business needs that support overall business strategies.
  • Monitor, configure, maintain, integrate, and drive user adoption of the following Microsoft solutions: Microsoft 365 Office, Power BI Pro, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Exchange Online and Power Automate
  • Manage VMs and network resources in Azure
  • Troubleshoot networking issues with firewalls, access points, and switches
  • Liaise with vendors regarding system and application upgrades, as well as issue resolution.
  • Support vendor evaluation, approval processes, and implementation activities.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, project plans, and testing protocols for hardware and software installation and upgrades.
  • Support data retention policy by managing retention configurations and backups through Veeam Data Cloud.
  • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging technology.
  • Ability and willingness to work off-hours and to be on call for emergencies.
  • Complete other duties, as assigned.


Starting pay ranges from $50.37-$58.37 per hour. Factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations may influence base pay.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a computer or technology related field.

Holding one or more of the following certifications is preferred:



  • Microsoft 365: Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft 365: Teams Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft 365: Information Security Administrator Associate
  • Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate
  • CompTIA: Cloud+, Server+, Network


Training and Experience:



  • 4+ years' experience in the management and maintenance of Microsoft 365 or Office 365, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune,
  • Exchange, and Office applications.
    At least two years' experience with Power Automate, Azure, Windows servers, and networking devices is required.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Fortinet, Ruckus, or Juniper Mist networking products is considered an asset.


Job Knowledge:



  • Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft 365 enterprise productivity and collaboration solutions, as well as common third-party application integrations, is required.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining servers and networking devices is essential.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively within a team, sharing and acquiring knowledge from colleagues to ensure departmental expertise, is expected.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for interactions with end users, managers, executives, and vendors.

Sedentary Work



Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Sedentary work involves sitting more than 67% of a typical workday.

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.





Medium Work



Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.





Heavy Work



Exerting over 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. If related to patient care - Must be able to safely assist residents/patients including but not limited to lifting, turning, supporting weight and movement.



The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
