Responsibilities

As the Data Analyst, you will report to the Director of Market Insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven decision-making and provide valuable insights into the organization's performance. Your analytical skills will be critical in optimizing business processes, identifying opportunities, and supporting key initiatives. The role requires a solid understanding of data analysis methodologies, proficiency in business intelligence tools, and the ability to effectively communicate complex findings to key stakeholders.

Gather and analyze large sets of external and internal data to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations regarding a variety of Donor Engagement and B&LO efforts. This includes, but is not limited to, marketing campaigns, market expansion opportunities, reviewing data from external vendors and partners, as well as growth endeavors and donor segmentation data. Additionally, you may support social media analytics, donor loyalty rewards optimization efforts, and diverse optimization projects.

Use various predictive analytics techniques to analyze current and historical data to forecast future performance by identifying patterns and trends in the data. Provide ideas and recommendations to organizational leaders regarding opportunities and areas of improvement.

Candidates must be able to report into one of the following NYBCe locations: New York City, NY; Kansas City, Missouri; St. Paul, Minnesota; Providence , RI and Newark, DE.

Data Collection and Preparation:

    Collect, organize, and clean data from diverse sources to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Develop and implement efficient data collection methods, including database queries, data scraping, and data import/export processes.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Utilize statistical methods and data visualization techniques to analyze data sets.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and correlations in the data to derive meaningful insights.
  • Interpret data and provide actionable recommendations to support business objectives.

Reporting and Visualization:

  • Create comprehensive and visually appealing reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Use data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate insights effectively.
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations that enable stakeholders to make informed decisions.

Business Intelligence:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and analytical requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions.
  • Participate in the creation of KPIs and metrics to measure business performance.

Data Management and Maintenance:

  • Identify data-related issues and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve them.
  • Monitor data quality and implement measures for data cleansing and improvement.
  • Participate in data governance for Donor Engagement and B&LO.

Data-driven Decision Making:

  • Provide data-driven insights to stakeholders to aid in decision-making processes.
  • Support A/B testing and experimentation to drive improvements in business performance.

Stay Updated with Industry Trends:

  • Keep abreast of emerging data analytics technologies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with the team to foster a data-driven culture.
  • Assist: forecasting and modeling to support budgeting, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
  • Ensure that reports and dashboards are accessible to relevant stakeholders. Serve as a product owner for donor engagement dashboard products.
  • Work closely with various departments (e.g., marketing, sales, operations) to understand their data needs and provide insights that drive operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data accessibility and accuracy.
  • Work alongside Enterprise Real Estate team to help assess markets, perform forecasting for growth opportunities and build tools to automate processes.
  • Assist marketing leadership in ensuring the marketing budget is efficiently managed, tied to strategic objectives, and targets our audiences through successful campaigns.
  • Take leads on ad-hoc strategic projects for Donor Engagement and B&LO.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Experience:

  • 2 - 4 years of proven experience in data analysis, business intelligence, market insights, primary market research, or a similar analytical role.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in following reporting platforms:
    • Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Data analysis tools: Looker Studio, Google Analytics, and more (e.g., SQL, R, etc.)
    • Tableau and/or other BI and data visualization platforms (i.e. MS Power BI)
    • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business liaisons.
  • A continuous learner, updated with the latest trends in data analytics and related fields.
  • Demonstrates high personal integrity, agile problem-solving and stellar teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and predictive modeling.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $80,000.00p/yr. to $90,000.00p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.

Positions reporting into our Minnesota location: $70,000 - $80,000

Position reporting into our Delaware location: $68,000 - $78,000
