Job Description:

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for an IT and OT Specialist to join our Technology department based in Kinston, NC.

The role of the selected candidate is to ensure the technical readiness of the Information Technologies (IT) within the Operational Technologies (OT) deployed in the Kinston Manufacturing Site. This includes production machinery with PC's, Smart Tools and machines connected to the network, Industrial PC's hosting SCADA/HMI, and other manufacturing equipment containing information technologies which are maintained by the IndustrialMaintenance teams within the Mobile Manufacturing Site. The Industrial IT Specialist works normal business hours by default (This position is NOT responsible for the maintenance of the machines and/or equipment).

The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

Your Challenges:

Service Operations, Management and Monitoring : 50%

  • Identify, categorise, diagnose, and resolve information technology related problems at the industrial asset level

  • Plan, install, and configure software and hardware as required

  • Manage network components and configurations at machine level

  • Manage accounts, passwords, security, and integrity for devices in scope

  • Support new projects, data flow evaluation, security requirements, and budget circulations

  • Prepare, submit, and deliver change management as devices are updated, upgraded, and modified

  • Monitor systems according to policies

  • Apply relevant security measures, such as antivirus, security patches, and network segregation

  • Maintain, backup, and restore capabilities according to policies and aligned with the Hosting and Enterprise PSL

Asset Life Cycle Management: 15%

  • Build and maintain a Hardware and Software inventory/configuration management database (CMDB) in Service Now and SAP for the industrial assets within the IT/OT perimeter

  • Manage hardware and software licensing and provide inputs to the annual budget for the renewal and/or replacement

  • Manage, maintain, update, and upgrade systems, operating systems, and software with new releases

  • Support IT component disposal including e-wasting according to policies

Reporting: 15%

  • Weekly reporting of operational service levels and incidents related to the information technology of each industrial asset

  • Monthly asset reporting from Service Now and SAP for 100% of the assets within the IT/OT perimeter.

  • Quarterly reporting of licensing and software maintenance usage

Projects and Planning: 10%

  • Budget forecasts for the annual OP inputs to both Information Management (IT) and Industrial Maintenance (OT)

  • Deliver device integration planning with the FAL operational managers throughout the stations of the FAL

  • Provide IT/OT planning input to the maintenance master planner

  • Provide industrial security requirements during procurement process for new projects and purchases

Other duties as assigned: 10%

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Required: BS Degree / 4 Years Degree in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum 5 years of operational support experience in an IM (Information Management) support environment required

  • Minimum 5 years experience working with and supporting Service Now and Integrated Tools

  • An understanding of Airbus IM standards, project, and service methodologies and procedures is a plus

  • Knowledge of IM supplier landscape in North America is a plus

  • Experience supporting IT/OT systems within a production or manufacturing environment is a plus

  • Basic understanding of IT/OT and Network security standards and best practices required

  • Basic understanding of general maintenance processes and procedures related to a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Required: Technical certification in one of the following: A+, Security+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate

  • Knowledge in the areas of ITSM, ITAM, ITIL, and KPI reporting

  • Ability to plan, prioritise, organise, schedule, and execute assignments

  • Strong analytical skills, with strong-problem solving capability

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the team

  • Minimum 5 years of operational support experience in an IM (Information Management) support environment required

  • Minimum 5 years experience working with and supporting Service Now and Integrated Tools

  • An understanding of Airbus or Equivalent company (Complexity / Industrial configuration) IM standards, project, and service methodologies and procedures is a plus

  • Knowledge of IM supplier landscape in North America is a plus

  • Experience supporting IT/OT systems within a production or manufacturing environment is a plus

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English

  • Domestic and International travels ad-hoc

Preferred:

  • Preferred: Technical certification in one of the following: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional

  • Preferred: Minimum of ITIL foundations with advanced ITIL certifications is a plus

  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks and methods

  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP applications

  • Basic understanding of IT/OT and Network security standards and best practices required

  • Basic understanding of general maintenance processes and procedures related to a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Fluency in another language (French, German, and/or Spanish) is desirable.

  • Onsite attendance : 70-80% required

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications Daily

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Daily

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Daily

  • Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically, on short notice.15%

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.Daily

  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
