As an All-source In Intelligence Analyst within Idaho National Laboratory's National & Homeland Security (N&HS) Directorate, you will perform comprehensive, multidisciplinary analysis that advances critical mission areas - including protecting national critical infrastructure, evaluating defense systems, preventing nuclear weapons proliferation, and securing essential communications.

In this role, you will fuse classified intelligence with open-source information to produce reliable, timely and actionable insights that support decision-making and strengthen the mission and N&HS, INL and U.S Government partners. Working closely with Intelligence Community organizations, you will integrate multiple intelligence disciplines with technical data and collaborate with cross-functional teams - including analyst, engineers, and cybersecurity researchers - to develop, refine, and present assessments and findings to senior leaders and INL customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor a wide variety of data sources to maintain awareness of newly discovered vulnerabilities within control systems, the ability to exploit those vulnerabilities via cyber means, and the subsequent potential impact on critical infrastructure.
  • Apply advanced critical thinking and communication skills in parallel with the intelligence cycle to find solutions for a diverse and highly technical mission space.
  • Develop written analysis reports, briefings, white papers, and strategic documents to inform U.S. Government agencies, public utilities, private industry, military commands, and other decision-makers responsible for safeguarding critical infrastructure.
  • Integrate technical expertise with threat analysis to counter cyberattacks targeting industrial control systems (ICS) within critical infrastructure. Conduct advanced technical assessments of cyber threats against ICS environments such as the electrical grid, oil and gas pipelines, nuclear energy facilities, wireless communications, military installations, and transportation networks.
  • Collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity researchers, and analysts to produce clear, concise, and often classified reports, briefings, and strategies addressing threats to ICS and critical infrastructure.
  • Support national security initiatives aimed at strengthening the security and resilience of critical infrastructure against cyberattacks. Provide expert insight to senior U.S. Government officials on issues involving ICS and cybersecurity.
  • Extract and synthesize project requirements from unstructured, ambiguous, or unrelated sources to form expert assessments of adversary cyber capabilities. Translate complex technical information into concise reports and briefings for non-technical audiences.
  • Monitor diverse data sources to identify newly discovered ICS vulnerabilities, assess exploitability, and evaluate potential impacts on critical infrastructure.
  • Other duties as assigned.
