Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Warehouse/Yard Associate in Richmond, Virginia. The Warehouse/Yard Associate is responsible for loading, unloading, receiving/releasing customer equipment, maintaining the equipment yard for easy access directing the delivery of new equipment, maintaining the Warehouse/Shop and sorting parts. Seeking candidates with forklift, pallet jack experience, preferred; High school diploma or equivalent, preferred. Requirements for the Warehouse/Yard Associate position include: Self-starter able to work with limited supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong mechanical aptitude; must be able to learn and apply knowledge of parts, components and equipment. Capable of safely operating all material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and other similar material handling equipment. Must be self-directed, organized and be able to interact with coworkers. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize tasks with competing demands. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Must be able to work additional hours to meet business and customer needs. Must have an excellent driving record. Physical requirements must be met for the Warehouse/Yard Associate job, including regularly being required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
