The estimated base salary range for this role is $80,010 to $100,350 per year.

Manufacturing Supervisor / Production Leader

This position reports to the Manufacturing Team Manager and is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and continuous improvement across all aspects of the manufacturing process. This includes cost performance, schedule adherence, quality, process capability, manpower planning, maintenance integration, and product development initiatives. This role is critical to ensure efficient, value-added operations within the plant.

What You'll Be Doing

Day-to-Day Operations

  • Ensure efficient and effective operation of production equipment and processes.
  • Lead and support employee training, development, and accountability.
  • Apply problem-solving tools and methodologies to improve operational performance.
  • Execute projects driven by Value Stream teams.
  • Follow up on countermeasures and resolution of special causes.
  • Coordinate operations during shutdowns, holidays, and downtime events.
  • Oversee and integrate daily maintenance activities with production priorities.
  • Align production with planning, raw material flow, inventory, and quality requirements.
  • Plan and manage manpower, overtime, and maintenance needs.
  • Support and coordinate new product development (NPD) activities.
  • Leverage internal and external resources to drive operational results.

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop, document, and deploy process improvements and performance metrics.
  • Improve communication across operations, maintenance, lab, logistics, and support teams.
  • Optimize manpower utilization and workflow efficiency.
  • Drive improvements through effective downday planning and execution.
  • Lead and support maintenance improvement projects.
  • Manage and complete Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA).
  • Apply and support methodologies such as:
    • Lean Manufacturing
    • DMAIC
    • Six Sigma
    • Kaizen

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree, technical degree, or equivalent experience in first-line supervision or process improvement.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience with process improvement methodologies.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of plant business systems including:
    • Work order processes
    • Raw material flow
    • Production planning
    • Downday planning
    • Union work rules
  • Ability to integrate across operations, maintenance, and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency with systems such as:
    • Minitab
    • Excel / Word
    • SAP
    • Access / Clarity
  • Ability to act as a Relief Supervisor or Team Manager as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Manufacturing environment with variable temperatures (hot in summer, cold in winter).
  • Exposure to moving equipment, conveyors, presses, and forklifts.
  • Regular use of platforms, stairs, and ladders.
  • Must be able to safely navigate and work within an active production floor.
