Star, MS - LCO2 How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Lead Operations/Quality Technician (LOQT) is responsible for the leadership of the quality function at the facility and the LOQT will assist the Plant / Facility Manager in the safe, reliable and efficient operations of the facility.

The LOQT manages the processes that ensure that products and services are of the highest quality, while complying with all regulatory agencies and requirements including, but not limited to FDA, OSHA, EPA, DHS and company quality policies and procedures. Airgas is Hiring for a Lead Operations/Quality Technician - in Star, Mississippi.

We are looking for you!

  • Pay range: $38-$46/hr.

  • Bonus: 5% Annual

  • Schedule: Mon-Fri normal business hours, occasional nights and weekends with On-call responsibility

  • Travel: 5% - As business needs demand

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Day-to-day coordination and monitoring of the processes to produce CO2, which includes operating and coordinating the following:

  • Furnaces

  • Compressors

  • DCS monitoring systems

  • Rotating Equipment

  • Catalyst Reactors

  • Water Treatment Systems (Cooling Water Systems)

  • Pneumatically Operated and Manual Valves

  • Resolve operating conditions, navigate customer order rates, and process optimization

  • Complete operator rounds, execute minor preventative maintenance, and
    support mechanical and instrumentation maintenance and projects.

  • Facilitate permit work in the field and support contract partners

  • Participate in Process Safety and Personnel Safety programs and implement site policies and regulations.

  • This is a safety sensitive position.

Required Qualifications

  • We look for a HS diploma or equivalent.

  • A deep commitment to safety, working as a team, and operational excellence.

  • A proactive professional with a dedicated approach to their work.

  • Ideally, you bring a minimum of 3 years of experience within Quality Assurance in a processing environment.

  • Highly detail-oriented with demonstrated skills administering quality and technical programs, including the ability to establish and maintain a plant filing system and coordination of engineering documents.

  • Working knowledge of Food Safety Programs including SQF & HACCP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A 2-year technical degree is preferred; military or technical experience is also highly valued. An equivalent combination of education and experience is welcome.

  • 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment with chemical processing or petrochemicals preferred.

  • An associate's degree in Process Technology or Engineering is advantageous and may be considered in lieu of experience.

  • Experience in industrial plant operations is a plus.
