We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: Housing Specialist



The Housing Specialist assures housing readiness of clients by implementing appropriate trainings and developing permanent housing options in both public and private sectors.

Location: Bronx, NY 10452



Minimum Qualifications:




  • Associate's degree or 60 college credits courses in Human Services field, or High School Diploma or GED with 2 year of related experience in shelter services for low income and/or homeless population.
  • Knowledge of federal guidelines for public and private low-income housing required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A clean and valid driver's license is a plus.



Housing Specialist Principal Responsibilities:



  1. Conduct housing eligibility assessments of all applicable clients.
  2. Develop linkages with real estate companies and office of public housing.
  3. Maintain and update listings of permanent affordable housing.
  4. Develop and facilitate client workshops and individual sessions on skills and information necessary to acquire and maintain independent permanent housing.
  5. Track placements and conduct follow up of clients placed into permanent housing.
  6. Perform other related duties as requested.
